APEX
Situational Awareness
The Situational Awareness capabilities within UltraAPEX provide a real time understanding of an airport's current operational situation. The full airport environment can be mapped, monitored and managed through various graphical utilities, data feeds and configurable process flows.
These graphical utilities include:
Data Viewers
-
Tabular representations of data gathered from the AODB and, potentially, other sources.
Events and Task Card Viewers
-
Graphical facilities for tracking raised Events and Task Sequences.
Workflows
-
Interactively managed activity sequences that automate the updating of data and the raising of alarms, in accordance with changing circumstances.
Interactive Maps
-
Animated maps that are dynamically modified according to status changes, and which provide interfaces for the interactive retrieval of information on aircraft, gates, buildings, ground transportation, and other entities.

APEX
Advanced Analytics
The Business Intelligence capabilities of UltraAPEX provide customizable graphical utilities that ensure optimal representation of data, maintained in an Airport Operational Database (AODB): making that data exceptionally easy to review, cross-reference, and modify.
These graphical utilities include:
Charts
-
Visual representations of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which communicate the degrees of efficiency with which an airport is functioning.
Reports
-
Detailed, distributable accounts of an airport’s operational activities.
Strategic Dashboards
-
Data displays provide warnings when efficiency thresholds are exceeded and assist users with root cause analysis.
Data Viewers
-
Representations of data, presented in an unambiguous manner.

A-CDM
Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) is the standard terminology for communications and operational procedures. It is used in air traffic control and airport capacity management; its goal being the improvement of event predictability, and the optimizing of resource utilization.
The UltraAPEX A-CDM Module provides graphical, interactive utilities that support A-CDM concepts defined by EUROCONTROL (the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation).
Among the features provided by the UltraAPEX A-CDM Module are the following:
Milestone Tracking
-
Visual representations of the status of every pertinent flight, including all milestones related to its arrival at and departure from the airport.
Taxi-Time Management
-
Interactive control of taxi-times, which can be varied according to changing conditions, and so used as the basis for high accuracy flight-progress estimates.
Pre-Departure Sequencing
-
Procedures for establishing times and sequences for flight-departure.
Runway Management
-
Dynamic updates to runway status.
DPI Messaging
-
Automated communication with the EUROCONTROL authority, whereby flight management status can be continuously shared with air traffic control and ground staff at other airports.
The UltraAPEX Pre-Departure Sequencer is an optional module that complements the A-CDM Module. The Pre-Departure Sequencer automatically calculates start-up sequences according to Eurocontrol Airport CDM guidelines. It is designed for airports that have a relatively simple runway configuration and have neither an existing system for departure sequencing, nor a Departure Management (DMAN) capability.
